Jason Wagg

Jason joined the Axis Group in 2013 as the Group Commercial Manager and an Executive Board Member.

Jason has over 20 years experience in the Building Services Industry.

He began his career in 1992 as a Civil Engineer working for a Canberra, ACT based civil/building contractor.

He has owned and operated his own business and has held Senior Management Positions within a Global USA Incorporated Mechanical Manufacturing/Services Company and prior to joining the Axis Group held the position of Managing Director – Africa.

Hayden Waeger

Design/Operations Manager – ACS NSW

Hayden has a range of national and international and project experience which comprises of complex civil/hydraulic projects within the Health, Aviation and Defence industry. Has had Primary technical and managerial roles in Large Public Health Projects. Hayden has lead large Multi-disciplinary teams, through design management for the projects such as New Air Combat Capability Project for the RAAF in Williamstown and CSIRO’s Engineering Masterplan for their Lindfield Campus.

Lucas Furtado

National BIM Manager – ACS NSW

Lucas has a range of national and international project experience which comprises of complex civil/hydraulic projects within the Commercial, Health, Transport and Resort industry.

Adding to his skills in  strategy and development, project management, BIM modelling, hydraulic design and modelling of fire protection. Lucas has the capability and knowledge to design and deliver large scale BIM projects directly with Autodesk REVIT program, also he is responsible for the coordination of all hydraulic designs and its coordination with mechanical, electrical, fire, structural and civil elements.

Ian Murray

Schematic Design Manager – ACS NSW

Ian is a professional hydraulic designer and project manager specialising in the engineering of pumping and pipeline systems in all industries. His career spans more than four decades in Australia and S-E Asia on major defence. building, mining, and infrastructure projects. These projects have been for the owners, consultants, EPCM contractors and public authorities.

Ian engineering knowledge and experience on major infrastructure and heavy engineering projects is valuable in that key outcomes of a project are recognised, and this has saved the Client several million dollars in CAPEX and OPEX costs

Ian has a deep interest in engineering and the delivery of a project to bring quality to the end user. This is extended to providing mentoring to other engineers in the skills.  He is often called upon to peer review designs and value engineering cost saving.

Phil Turner

Design Manager – Queensland

Phil has more than 30 years experience and is a recognised leader in the hydraulic and fire protection engineering sector.  He has extensive experience, working on many major complex projects both overseas and in Australia. Phil has highly developed skills in project-management, design development, budget estimating, design documentation, construction and supervision.

Phil has specialised in the management of major projects, including Queens Wharf – Destination Brisbane, The Star Sovereign Resort Sydney a $420,000,000 upgrade and extension of the private gaming, Opal Aged Care – Springwood, Chung Tian Temple – Pilgrim Lodge, 112 Alfred Street Office and Residential, 240 Queen Street Office Redevelopment, 260 Queen Street Office Redevelopment, VCCC (Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre) a $1 billon cancer and research centre, Star Casino – Project Star a $1 billon redevelopment of Sydney Casino, The Star – redevelopment of Buffet, Private Gaming and redevelopment of The Star Casino’s Residential Apartments and Hotel towers.

Phil has also worked in New York, where he was a partner and head of production of Lehr Consultants International. He also led the hydraulic and fire design efforts, with an emphasis on introducing several innovative Australian plumbing, drainage and fire protection services worldwide.

In Australia, Phil also completed numerous major projects which included managing a multidiscipline team providing the design for the Sydney Switch-1 Internet Data Centre. That project pioneered innovative 3-D CAD technology and produced over $11,000,000 savings to the client. Other Australian assignments include the Westmead Private Hospital, Expansion of the Sydney Airport International Terminal, ABC Headquarters, and Westpac’s KENS Site Development.

Christopher Smith

Hydraulic Technical Lead – ACS VIC

Christopher has engaged in all aspects of hydraulic services design from feasibility, project definition phase, schematic design, and design development to construction documentation, Site phase inspections and reporting. Christopher attends all design group meetings and undertakes all liaison with public health authorities and utility providers.

Over his career, Christopher developed significant experience in project planning, documentation and delivery of inground and above ground infrastructure services working across all sectors including Defence, Rail and Mining NPI, commercial buildings, Correctional and Healthcare.
