Westmead Paediatric Services Building (PSB)

The high rise, state of the art Westmead Paediatric Services Building (PSB) is part of the progressive renewal of the Westmead Health and Innovation Precinct. The PSB consists of a new pharmacy and short stay unit, new perioperative services, new PICU and NICU, new oncology inpatient units and patient and family focused retreat areas. New medical and surgical inpatient units inclusive of family accommodation.

NSW - Nepean Stage 2, Axis Plumbing

Nepean Hospital Stage 2

Axis Plumbing are proud to work alongside CPB Contractors after the completion of Stage 1, to deliver Nepean Hospital Stage 2.

Stage 2 includes a new building that will seamlessly connect to the Stage 1 tower (Building A) and include:

  • An Intensive Care Unit
  • Medical imaging services and nuclear medicine
  • An in-centre renal dialysis unit
  • A new paediatric inpatient unit
  • Education and training facilities
  • A new front of house and reception area

The Gadigal Station (formerly Pitt Street Station)

The Gadigal Station (formerly Pitt Street Station) Integrated Station Development (ISD) is a new underground metro station on the Sydney Metro City & Southwest line, featuring two high-rise over station developments (OSDs). The North tower OSD is a 39-level, 55,000 m² commercial building, while the South tower OSD is a 39-level, 22,000 m² build-to-rent residential tower.

Axis Plumbing was engaged to deliver the hydraulic services for the entire development, which includes sewer and wastewater drainage, sanitary plumbing, tradewaste drainage, hot and cold water service, re-use water service, gas service, and roof drainage.

Martin Place Metro South Tower OSD, North Tower OSD and Station, Axis Plumbing

Metro Martin Place

Working with Lendlease, Axis Plumbing delivered the hydraulic packages for the Martin Place Metro South Tower OSD, North Tower OSD and Station projects.

The major development included building a new underground metro station, a central civic square, integrated with two commercial towers above the station.

The area of works for Axis encompassed the internal and external spaces of the Station, North & South tower. The hydraulic services included

  • Temporary water, sewer and stormwater services
  • Hot & cold water supplies including fire service mains
  • Sewer drainage and sanitary plumbing systems
  • Grease-waste systems
  • Stormwater drainage from downpipes and internal rainwater collection outlets

NSW Sydney Football Stadium, Axis Plumbing

Sydney Football Stadium

Axis Plumbing played a crucial role in the construction of a world-leading stadium, which commenced in early 2020 and was completed in October 2022. The redevelopment project aimed to create a state-of-the-art stadium with a capacity of 45,000 spectators.

As part of their engagement, Axis Plumbing was responsible for designing, supplying, and installing various hydraulic services within the stadium.

Axis Plumbing was engaged to designing and installing tradewaste drainage, siphonic drainage, recycled rainwater and bore water systems, rainwater collection and conservation, landscape and pitch irrigation, and hydraulic services fit-out ensured the functionality and efficiency of the stadium’s hydraulic infrastructure.

NSW - CROWN 2

Crown Resort Sydney

Axis Plumbing had the opportunity to collaborate with Lendlease throughout the entire design and construction phase of the prestigious Crown Resort Sydney project. The Crown Sydney Hotel Resort is a landmark development situated in Barangaroo South, overlooking Sydney Harbour. It is renowned as Sydney’s first six-star luxury hotel resort, offering unparalleled amenities and services.

The Crown Sydney Hotel Resort boasts a range of world-class features, including 350 hotel rooms and suites, 82 luxury apartments, signature restaurants, retail outlets, pool and spa facilities, conference rooms and VIP gaming facilities.

Throughout the project, Axis Plumbing played a crucial role by providing comprehensive hydraulic services. Their scope of work included:

  • Sewer drainage
  • Sanitary plumbing
  • Tradewaste drainage
  • Domestic cold and hot water services
  • Reuse water services
  • Rainwater services
  • Gas services
  • Roof drainage and stormwater drainage
  • Metering systems

By delivering these essential hydraulic services compliant with the Greenstar / NABERs requirements of the project, Axis Plumbing played a pivotal role in the successful completion of the Crown Sydney Hotel Resort.

CAMPBELLTOWN HOSPITAL REDEVELOPMENT, Axis Plumbing

Campbelltown Hospital Redevelopment

Axis Plumbing delivered the hydraulic services for the Campbelltown Hospital Redevelopment project, which involved the delivery of a new clinical services building and the refurbishment of existing buildings. The redevelopment aimed to enhance the healthcare facilities and services provided at the hospital. Here are some key features of the project:

  • New clinical services building with modern wards and patient facilities
  • New women’s health services including birthing suites and maternity ward
  • Increased children’s outpatient and ambulatory care services
  • Increased children’s surgical services
  • New nuclear medicine and dental services
  • State-of-the-art operating theatres and intensive care unit
  • Bigger emergency department with more treatment spaces
  • Modern mental health units that are centrally located
  • Increased access to outpatient and ambulatory care services
  • Upgraded medical imaging equipment
  • Increased cancer services

Within this extensive redevelopment, Axis Plumbing was responsible for the design and construction of the hydraulic services package. The scope of work included providing potable and non-potable water systems, sanitary drainage systems, tanks, pumps, filtration systems, siphonic roof drainage systems, and a reverse osmosis plant and reticulation. Their expertise in designing and implementing these crucial hydraulic systems contributed to the overall success of the project, enabling the hospital to provide essential water and drainage services to support quality healthcare delivery.

Northern Beaches Hospital

Project Overview

Axis Medical Gases successfully provided the medical gases services system for the Northern Beaches Hospital as a Green Field site including medical oxygen, medical air, medical suction, general compressed air, nitrous oxide, tool air, and carbon dioxide systems and sources of supply.

This included the gases manifold store, bulk oxygen VIE compound, medical breathing air and suction plant.

Axis also provided value engineering through user group consultation to install a special care location reserve oxygen supply, fed from two manifold packs and an automatic change-over manifold located on the basement level.

Star Sovereign Resort – The Star

Star City, home to one of Sydney’s most well-known casinos, also plays host to restaurants, bars, spas, clubs and a luxurious five-star hotel. The expansion and construction of the Star City Casino aims to improve the aesthetics of the building and enhance the experience of visitors.

Campbell’s Store Redevelopment – The Rocks

Campbell’s Store, located at the Rocks, is a historical site which is being restored to attract visitors. Situated on the Harbor, Campbell’s Store will transform into a shopping precinct with restaurants, cafes and bars. Axis Services will complete the Hydraulic Services for all levels of the Campbell’s Store, with the expected completion date of the overall project being in 2018.

West Connex M4 East

The M4 Motorway, connecting the Western Suburbs to the surrounding city suburbs, is currently underway, extending the tunnels between Homebush, Concord and Haberfield. The extension will create more space on the motorway and make travel more efficient for those who have previously used this motorway, as well as for those who continue to use it. With 6.5km of underground and above ground work, the project is expected to reach completion in 2020.

UNSW Student Accommodation

Axis Plumbing on Behalf of Brookfield Multiplex undertook the hydraulic services for the UNSW Student accommodation.

The project included 399 bed rooms with more than 371 kitchens and bathrooms as well as a basement level car park spread over two buildings. University Terraces comprises two separate seven level buildings providing 371 self-contained apartments for undergraduate and postgraduate students with many featuring balconies to help maximize natural light to living spaces.

Royal Randwick Racecourse

Axis Plumbing on Behalf of Brookfield Multiplex undertook the hydraulic services on the redevelopment of Randwick Racecourse. A world-class six-level grandstand and surrounding facilities that have increased the venue’s capacity to provide flexible spaces that can be used for both racing and non-race day events. The venue spans more than 200 acres with 15 unique indoor and outdoor spaces, which allows the racecourse to cater for conference events, exhibitions, trade shows, dinners and corporate days. 

The luxury racecourse offers a spectacular setting with a unique backdrop of trackside and cityscape views, high-class cuisine prepared by award-winning kitchens, free parking and state of the art technology.

Charles Perkins Centre

Axis Plumbing on Behalf of Brookfield Multiplex undertook the hydraulic services for the Charles Perkins centre Project. Charles Perkins Centre, a major University of Sydney initiative with 46,700 square meters of research and education space. Located at Missenden Road in Camperdown, adjacent to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital precinct and will provide a world-class facility for research into the cause and treatment of obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. 

The 10 level facilities will cater for 950 researchers and 1,445 undergraduate and post graduate students and will create a new social and educational hub for the western side of the University’s campus.

Amcor B9

Axis Plumbing on Behalf of Leighton Contractors undertook the hydraulic services on the Amcor B9 Paper mill project.

The Botany B9 Paper Mill will generate high quality recycled paper from waste collected throughout the Sydney area.

It will produce paper-based products across a wider range of weights and create packaging that is lighter, more efficient and more environmentally friendly.

Royal North Shore Acute Building

Axis Plumbing on Behalf of Thiess undertook the hydraulic services on the Royal North Shore Hospital redevelopment project.

The redeveloped offers a new Main Hospital Building (Acute Care facility), a new Community Health Building and refurbishment to some existing buildings, providing:

  • 462 acute beds to complement the 124 beds provided within the already completed Douglas Building
  • 40 acute mental health beds
  • Additional chemotherapy and renal dialysis chairs
  • Enhanced diagnostic services and ambulatory care services, and
  • A total of 29 procedure and operating rooms
